There is only just over one week to go before I'm on the radio talking about GY bands and the local music scene including Ants Park Lane thing and Saturday rock nights at the Ye Olde Musician (are they still happening?), both of which got a mention last week on the show.
I sent them a full gig guide for March and they will be announcing them again this Wednesday. If you have any gigs coming up in April please let me know about them and I can give them all the info on the 20th when I go.
The show starts at 7.0pm on Wednesday nights and finishes at 10pm although the last hour of the show is dedicated to dance music which may not appeal to most of you guys. I listened to it last week and it was an excellent show full of new music but mostly from the Hull area. It is my intention to make sure that Grimsby gets proper representation so any bands who haven't yet given me a recording of themselves then please get round to it as soon as possible.
One more thing. Will all the bands please e-mail me some auto-biographical stuff about your band ie: Names of all band members, your music genre (I know bands dont like to be pigeonholed but I really need some way to describe what your playing), how your band got together (school, college, live in the same street etc
, what instuments you play and maybe any interesting gig stories you may have.
Finally, dont forget to tune in, not just when I'm on but every Wednesday. The show is called "Raw Talent" (a bit of a cheesy name I know, but the show certainly isn't) on Radio Humberside 95.9 FM.
Cheers Andy.

Andy, yer a credit.
I'll be e-mailing ya with some details on a gig that I would like you to put on. The line-up I have planned will be, in my opinion, the best gig L2Y will have been part of.

Oh I forgot to remind you about the band competition that Radio Humberside are holding. Its open to bands who's members are between 16 and 26 and are able to play live. You will need a recording of some sort for them to hear. It can be a CD, tape, mini-disc or even a video. The quality doesn't have to be perfect as they just need to be able to see that you can play your instruments.
You can get an application form from their studio at St James House in town.
Cheers Andy.

Jon,
They've made the rules but it's up to you if you want to break them. As far as I know they're not asking to see anyones birth certificate. You'd have to get an application form to get a feel of how strict the rule is. I'm afraid I don't have any control over this decision but I will ask one of the programmes staff if you could still sneak in.
Joe,
Thanks, you know I'll try to put any gig on as long as the bands aren't all prima-donna'ish and demand silly money and that. I look forward to hearing your proposal.
Cheers Andy.
